DACA:Free Legal Assistance
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program allows eligible immigrants who entered the country at a young age without status to apply for work permits and temporary deferrals of deportations. There are approximately 800,000 DACA recipients; 1 in 4 DACA recipients live in rural communities.
Although not a path to permanent legal status or citizenship, DACA offers a chance for undocumented youth to come out of the shadows, strive to achieve their dreams, and increase their contributions to the social and economic vitality of our society.
