DACA:Free Legal Assistance

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program allows eligible immigrants who entered the country at a young age without status to apply for work permits and temporary deferrals of deportations. There are approximately 800,000 DACA recipients; 1 in 4 DACA recipients live in rural communities.

Although not a path to permanent legal status or citizenship, DACA offers a chance for undocumented youth to come out of the shadows, strive to achieve their dreams, and increase their contributions to the social and economic vitality of our society.

CRLAF offers free legal assistance with DACA renewals and also provides critical Know Your Rights workshops to college campuses and community-based organizations throughout rural California.

For more information about upcoming workshops, how to make an appointment, and for information about scholarships for DACA renewal fees please check out our recent posts below. To talk with a member of the team, please call 916-446-7901.
