The Supreme Court’s decision is a victory for DACA recipients and their families!
At CRLA Foundation, we celebrate the Supreme Court's decision today recognizing that family unity and human dignity cannot be trumped by politics. We stand in solidarity, hand-in-hand, with our brothers and sisters—DACA recipients, DREAMers, and all undocumented immigrants—celebrating today. We rejoice knowing that this decision will allow hundreds of thousands of young people to feel safer today, and we will continue to support DACA recipients and their families as we begin to better understand its full legal and practical implications.
At the same time, CRLA Foundation also recognizes that we must continue fighting on behalf of immigrant communities. While today is a victory for DACA, Congress must take action to enact comprehensive immigration reform. At CRLA Foundation, as the sons and daughters of immigrants and farmworkers, we believe justice and dignity are inalienable human rights, and we will not stop pursuing these goals for all, regardless of immigration status.
Today, more than 200,000 DACA recipients are working to protect the health and safety of Americans during the COVID-19 crisis. Immigrant farmworkers and their many sacrifices allow us to eat every night at our dinner tables. And nearly half of all children in California are children of immigrants (and over 18 million children in the U.S. are children of immigrants). Immigrants are an essential part of this country’s society and economy, and our immigration policies must reflect their contributions and place in the United States. Today’s Supreme Court’s decision affirms these principles, and we will continue our fight for immigrants’ rights and justice. ¡Si se pudo, and si se puede!

¡La decisión de la Corte Suprema es una victoria para los beneficiarios de DACA y sus familias!
En la Fundación de Asistencia Legal Rural de California, celebramos la decisión de la Corte Suprema de hoy reconociendo que la unidad familiar y la dignidad humana no pueden ser superadas por la política. Nos solidarizamos, de la mano, con nuestros hermanos y hermanas, los recipientes de DACA, DREAMers y todos los inmigrantes indocumentados, celebrando hoy. Nos alegramos de saber que esta decisión permitirá que cientos de miles de jóvenes se sientan más seguros hoy, y seguiremos apoyando a los recipientes de DACA y sus familias a medida que comenzamos a comprender mejor sus implicaciones legales y prácticas.
Al mismo tiempo, la Fundación de Asistencia Legal Rural de California también reconoce que debemos seguir luchando en nombre de las comunidades de inmigrantes. Si bien hoy es una victoria para DACA, pero el Congreso debe tomar medidas para promulgar una reforma migratoria integral. En la Fundación, como hijos e hijas de inmigrantes y trabajadores agrícolas, creemos que la justicia y la dignidad son derechos humanos inalienables, y no dejaremos de perseguir estos objetivos para todos, independientemente de su estatus migratorio.
